A ductless system connects one or more indoor units to an outdoor heat-pump unit. It can serve a single room or multiple defined zones, depending on the equipment and project.

Can a mini-split heat and cool?

Most ductless systems used for year-round comfort are heat pumps that provide both heating and cooling. Confirm the selected equipment and design.

Does every room need an indoor unit?

Not necessarily, but comfort does not automatically move evenly through closed doors or separated rooms. Zoning should match the layout and use.

Where does condensate go?

The indoor unit produces condensate during cooling. Drainage must be planned to an appropriate location, sometimes using gravity and sometimes a pump.
